Dickinson City Council on Tuesday voted 4-1, with William King, III opposed, to approve a motion to remove a clause regarding the boycotting of Israel from an agreement for individuals associated with Hurricane Harvey recovery.

The motion was made during discussion of recovery efforts from the storm. The clause, which was reported to require those who were to be provided recovery assistance to agree not to boycott Israel, had received complaint from the American Civil Liberties Union.

The city council voted unanimously to extend the collective bargaining agreement with the Dickinson Police Officers Association for a period of 92 days. The agreement originally expired on September 30.

The city council voted unanimously to submit an application tot he Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs for the Home Program, Reservation System and authorizing the mayor to act as the city's chief administrative officer and representative for the city's participation in the grant.

The program will provide disaster relief funds to assist with the rehabilitation or reconstruction of existing owner-occupied housing.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize carryover of excess accrued employee vacation time not used due to the impact of Hurricane Harvey.

The city council voted unanimously to cancel the November 28 and December 26 meetings due to the holidays.
