Governor Abbott Appoints Three To Texas State Technical College System Board of Regents

AUSTIN – Governor Greg Abbott has appointed Tony Abad, Curtis Cleveland, and Alejandro “Alex” Meade, III to the Texas State Technical College (TSTC) System Board of Regents for terms set to expire on August 31, 2021.  

Tony Abad of Waco is a mechanical design engineer at SyberJet Aircraft with 30 years experience in aircraft modification. He has been a community volunteer throughout Waco. He served as a charter board member of Voices Against Substance Abuse and volunteered with the Prosper Waco Financial Committee. Additionally, he served as president of the Sanger Heights Neighborhood Association and the Waco Sunrise Rotary. Abad received an Associate of Applied Science in drafting and design from TSTC Harlingen. 

Curtis Cleveland of Waco is vice president of Central Texas Iron Works, Inc. He is a member of the Greater Waco Advanced Manufacturing Academy Executive Committee, TSTC Foundation Board of Directors, and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame Board of Directors. Additionally, he is a member of the Association for Good Government Board of Directors, Extraco Bank Advisory Board of Directors, and the St. Paul’s Episcopal Church Vestry. Cleveland received a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. 

Alejandro G. Meade, III of Mission is CEO of the Mission Economic Development Corporation. He is a member of the Texas State Affordable Housing Corporation and Texas Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors. He is certified as an Economic Development Finance Professional by the National Development Council and as a Certified Public Manager by the National Certified Public Manager Consortium. Meade received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics from St. Edward’s University, Master of Business Administration from The University of Texas at Brownsville, and a Master of Public Administration from The University of Texas Pan American.
