Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District Board of Commissioners
by Garrett Bryce
Thursday, October 26, 2017

The Lake Charles Harbor and Terminal District Board of Commissioners on Monday voted unanimously to award a $331,063 contract to Industrial Crane Services, Inc. for the American unloader elevator replacement project.

The bid for the contract, which replaces a personnel elevator, included two alternates, at $18,425 and $10,500, respectively.

The board voted unanimously to submit a capital outlay request for state funding for two port improvement projects.

The projects in the funding request include dredging at district owned facilities, and a mobile harbor crane for Bulk Terminal No 1.

The board voted unanimously to adopt resolutions recognizing former commissioners Walt Sanchez and Daryl Burckel.

The board members were replaced by Carl Krielow and Tom Lorenzi. Burckel had resigned to take the position of President of McNeese State University.

The board met in executive session, but took no action on items discussed in the closed meeting.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
