Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the weekend, including Saturday's fatal shooting of two men and wounding of a third at 10650 Hempstead Highway.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 10650 Hempstead

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of two men and wounding of another man found at 10650 Hempstead Highway about 3:50 p.m. on Saturday (October 28).  

The identities of the two deceased males are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  A third male suffered gunshot wounds and was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in an unknown condition.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. Elliott and M. Coleman reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a call for assistance from Houston Fire Department personnel at a motel at the above address and found two males with gunshot wounds inside of a room.  One male was pronounced deceased while the other was transported to the hospital to be treated for his wounds.  Soon after, a third victim, a male believed to be 60, was discovered in an adjacent room, also suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.  He was also pronounced deceased.  

At this time, there is no known motive nor suspect(s).

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3400 Bremond

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 3400 Bremond about 5:50 p.m. last Friday (October 27). 

The identity of the victim, 17, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhodes and Officer J. Pickett reported: 

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found the victim lying in the street deceased.  He had sustained multiple gunshot wounds. 

At this time, there are no known witnesses not suspect (s).

Investigation into Incident at 8700 South Braeswood

Houston police are investigating an incident in which an HPD officer shot an armed suspect at 8700 South Braeswood Boulevard about 3:50 p.m. on Saturday (October 28).  

The male suspect, 24, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.  

Officer R. Foster, who discharged his duty weapon, was not injured in the incident.  Officer Foster was sworn in as an officer in August 2016 and is assigned to the South Gessner Patrol Division.  

HPD Special Investigations Unit Sergeant M. Dillingham, Senior Police Officer L. Bailey and Officers J. Snook and M. Millington reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to a disturbance with a weapon call regarding a male pointing a gun at a grocery store at 8650 South Braeswood and found a male matching the description of the suspect walking near 8700 South Braeswood.  Knowing the suspect was armed, officers gave him several verbal commands to get on the ground, which he ignored.  The suspect then reached behind his back into his waistband, at which time, officers saw a gun in his hand.  Fearing for his fellow officers' lives, Officer Foster discharged his duty weapon, striking the suspect.  Officers recovered a gun from the suspect's possession and he was then transported by HFD paramedics to the hospital.  

As is customary in HPD officer-involved shootings in the city limits, this case is being investigated by the HPD Homicide Division Special Investigations Unit, the Internal Affairs Division and the Harris County District Attorney's Office.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 800 West Sam Houston Parkway North

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 800 West Sam Houston Parkway North service road (Beltway 8) about 11:15 p.m. last Friday (October 27).  

The identity of the male victim, 23, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer M. Nicotra reported:  

According to witnesses, the victim was driving a white NIssan Frontier pickup truck at a high rate of speed southbound on the service road south of the Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10) and failed to stay in a single lane.  The vehicle then left the roadway, continued southbound on the shoulder and struck a support cable of a power line pole.  The impact caused the vehicle to spin around and strike a sound barrier wall next to the service road.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the driver deceased. 

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 7400 Ashcroft

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 7400 Ashcroft about 3:55 a.m. on Saturday (October 28).  

The identities and genders of both deceased victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer J. Baker reported:  

According to witnesses, the driver of a BMW 35i was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound on Ashcroft and ran a red light at the intersection of Bissonnet.  The vehicle continued through the intersection at a high rate of speed and struck a tree on the south side of Bissonnet.  The impact caused the vehicle to burst into flames.  Both persons in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.  

The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Man's Death at 7998 Corporate Drive

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a man found at 7998 Corporate Drive about 9:15 p.m. on Saturday (October 28).  

The victim, Earnest Lee, 38, was pronounced dead at the scene.  

HPD Homicide Division Detectives K. James and C. Elder reported:  

HPD patrol officers responded to an assault call outside a gas station at the above address and learned Mr. Lee got into a physical fight with three men after he assaulted two females, one of  whom was transported to the hospital.  Shortly after the fight, Lee fell to the ground with injuries to his nose.

The males fled the scene.  Investigators urge them to come forward to provide statements on the incident.

Investigation into Male Found Deceased at 4240 Main Street

Houston police are awaiting autopsy results in the death of a male found at 4240 Main Street about 6:05 p.m. on Sunday (October 29). 

The identity of the male is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Detectives C. Sharp and E. Wohlgemuth reported: 

HPD patrol officers, along with HFD emergency personnel, responded to a person down call at the above address and found a deceased male. 

At this time, the death appears to be drug-related, however, the investigation is pending.the male's cause of death.
