Houston police are investigating several incidents that took place during the weekend, including Friday's fatal shooting of a man at 3800 Rebecca Street.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3800 Rebecca Street

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man at 3800 Rebecca Street about 11:55 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 3).

The identity of the victim, 55, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Watson and M. Barrow reported:

An officer was working a crash scene when he was approached by a citizen who advised a man was shot at a nearby location.  Patrol officers responded to the above address and located the victim.  When they asked him what happened, he stated he did not know.  The man then lost consciousness.  Paramedics transported him to Ben Taub General Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 900 Marcolin

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 900 Marcolin about 7:45 p.m. on Saturday (Nov. 5).

The identity of the male victim, 60, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer L. Tram reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was walking in the street at the above address when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene and whose driver failed to stop and render aid.  Paramedics pronounced the man dead at the scene.

At this time, there are no known witnesses to the crash.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 6100 South Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash at 6100 South Freeway (State Highway 288 South) about 7:55 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 3).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant F. Briones and Officer O. Sulaiman reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was crossing the main lanes of the freeway when he was struck by an unknown white vehicle whose driver fled the scene.  A second vehicle, a silver Nissan Maxima, also struck the victim.  That driver exited the freeway and was initially detained for questioning.  The driver did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released after it was determined he was not trying to flee the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4900 Old Spanish Trail

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4900 Old Spanish Trail about 10:05 p.m. last Friday (Nov. 3).

The identity of the female victim, 50, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant J. Salazar and Officer B. Roberts reported:

The victim, a pedestrian, was walking in the middle of the street when she was struck by a black Chevrolet Suburban, whose driver stopped and called 911.  Paramedics pronounced the woman dead at the scene.  The driver consented to a mandatory blood draw.  He did not show signs of intoxication and was questioned and released pending further investigation.  The pedestrian was at-fault in the crash.
