Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve an economic development agreement with BCBP Cravens East, LP for the development of a Best Buy warehouse, distribution and fulfillment center at approximately 36 acres of land located north of United States Highway 90A and south of Sunset Lane.

The anticipated project totals 500,000 square feet, and will result in an estimated $70 million in new capital investment in the community. The city is offering an incentive package that includes tax abatement of 65 percent of the assessed value of improvements for 10-year period, and rebates sales taxes from purchases related to the development of the project.

The city council voted unanimously to approve tax abatement agreements related to improvements and personal property associated with the project.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a contract with R.G. Miller, Inc., for a total amount not to exceed $330,896, for the reconstruction of Waterfall Drive from Independence Boulevard to the southern end of the street.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a $176,536 contract with Bass Construction Company for the replacement of the roof at Fire Station No. 3.

The city council voted unanimously to accept parkland dedications from The Jubilee and The Gala, which are age-restricted multifamily developments to be located along the Texas Parkway.

The parkway dedications total $13,200 for The Gala and $126,000 for The Jubilee, and will be used for improvements to parks within the area.

The city council took no action regarding a policy limiting the use of city resources and the period in which city-sponsored community meetings and city-supported community meetings may be held. The item was tagged by Council Member Chris Preston.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
