Bark Park at Countryside opens, Nov. 12

LEAGUE CITY, TEXAS – The public is invited to celebrate the grand opening of the City of League City’s first dog park, a culmination of many years of collaboration between the League City Dog Park Association (LCDPA) and the City of League City, on Sunday, November 12 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the park located adjacent to Lynn Gripon Park at Countryside (100 Alderwood).

The three-and-a-half-acre dog park, which city council approved in February 2017 after receiving input from residents, will offer areas for large and small dogs, wash-down stations, bull pen areas, benches, play amenities, obstacle courses, picnic tables, and multiple play features for dogs.

“This is something the community had expressed great interest in,” said League City Park’s Director Chien Wei. “We are proud and excited to be able to offer this new amenity to our residents and their four-legged companions.”

The celebration will feature an array of family- and animal-friendly activities including K9 demonstrations, free offerings for children such as bouncy houses, popcorn and more. Multiple food trucks and vendors will be on-site.

The League City Animal Alliance will be on-site offering low-cost microchips and rabies vaccinations.

Admission to the event is free. Overflow parking and free shuttle services will be available at Bay Area Church, located at 4800 W. Main St.

For more information about this event contact Parks staff at 281-554-1180.
