Port Arthur City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve a contract with the Texas Municipal League Intergovernmental Risk Pool Turnkey Recovery Program for the rebuilding of Fire Station No. 6.

The fire station, located at 4448 9th Avenue, was damaged during Hurricane Harvey. TML is settling the city's insurance claim by paying $393,394 in damages, less a deductible of $12,000, for a total of $381,394.

The city council voted 7-0, with Cal Jones not present at the time of the vote, to approve the purchase of Sensus Meters for the Utility Operations Department.

The meters will be purchased from Aqua Metric Sales Company for an amount not to exceed $280,000.

The city council voted unanimously to remove from the agenda a resolution appointing members to the city's Electrical Advisory Board.

The city council voted unanimously to adopt, with amendments, a resolution approving two industrial district expansion agreements with Colonial Pipeline Company.

The city council voted 4-4 on a motion to make changes to the city's Code of Ordinances to establish an Electrical Advisory Board and establish membership of the board. The item failed due to the tie vote.

The city council voted unanimously to divide the city's ballots among Hughie Allen, Tim Andrews, Laura Floyd, Karen Fisher, Tim Schossow, John Zerko for the Orange County Appraisal District Board of Directors.

The city carries 62 ballots for electing the board. Each of the candidates will receive 10 votes.

The city council voted unanimously to update the rules and regulations for the Construction Board of Adjustments and Appeals by increasing the number of members and the number of members that comprise a quorum.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. Council Member Osman Swati was absent. Agenda
