Fort Bend County
Sugar Land City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Thursday, November 09, 2017

Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to award a $125,000 contract to Huitt-Zollars for the Brazos River Bank Erosion Study.

The study comes after flooding events in 2015, 2016 and most recently Hurricane Harvey, which have eroded the bank of the river at several locations.

The study will help determine the potential threat to infrastructure, such as bridges, levees, parks, roads and utilities.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a proposed budget amendment in the amount of $100,000 to provide Hotel Occupancy Tax funds for the 2018 Sugar Land Wine and Food Affair Marketing Plan.

The city council voted unanimously to accept donations of $2,672 and non-monetary donations valued at $528 for the Animal Service Department.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize an expenditure of $900,000 for the procurement and delivery of fuel from Sun Coast Resources. The purchase will come through an interlocal agreement with Harris County.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with council members Steve Porter and Bridget Yeung were absent. Agenda
