Shoreacres City Council on Monday voted unanimously to direct the current city manager, David Stall, to hire an interim city manager and to conduct no further interviews at the time for a permanent city manager to replace Stall following his retirement early next year.

Stall said he intends to select an interim city manager by January 8.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize the preparation of financing documents and a preliminary official statement for the issuance of certificates of obligation in the amount of $3 million. The bonds will provide funds for water, wastewater and street improvement projects.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an engineering study related to the issuance of the certificates of obligation.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the purchase of a police vehicle through the cooperative purchasing program of the Houston-Galveston Area Council.

A resolution supporting passage of the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2017 died for lack of a motion.

The city council voted unanimously to increase the city's residence homestead exemption from 10 percent to 20 percent of the appraised value of a homeowner's property effective for the 2018 Tax Year and subsequent years.
