The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to approve an agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation for an exit ramp near Holland Road on Interstate 45.

The city had received a final schematic layout of the upcoming Gulf Freeway reconstruction project several months ago, and had found that the only freeway exit to get to Holland Road southbound was just past FM 517. The city requested an additional exit ramp for Holland Road traveling southbound.

Under the agreement, the city will provide $600,000. The city will utilized $200,000 from the Texas City Economic Development Corporation and $400,000 from Buc-ee's.

The city commission voted to approve an agreement with Buc-ee's for $400,000 for the installation of the exit ramp at Holland Road.

The city commission voted to amend the city's FY2018 Budget to adjust funds to facility the construction of the exit ramp.

The city commission voted to amend the city's FY2018 budget to close the FY2017 purchase orders.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
