Beaumont City Council

Beaumont City Council today voted unanimously to award a $726,162 contract to Allco, LLC for the Keith Road 16-inch Water Line Project.

The project includes the installation of the water line from Phelan Boulevard to Dishman Road.

The city council voted to cast the city's 480 votes for the re-election of Lauren Mason to the Jefferson Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.

Mason, Eugene Landry, Charles Lankford, Dr. Louis Reed and Jefferson County Tax Assessor-Collector Allison Nathan Getz have been nominated for election.

The city council voted to approve a recommendation to reject all bids received for the Chlorination Contact Chamber Rehabilitaton Project.

The chamber, which is at the city's wastewater treatment plant at 4900 Lafin Drive, has damage and requires rehabilitation. The city received two bids for the project, both of which greatly exceeded the estimated cost of the project.

The city council voted to pay the city's dues for membership in the South East Texas Regional Planning Commission.

The dues for FY2018 total $43,233, the same paid in 2017.

The city council voted to approve receipt of a grant from the Texas State Library and Archives Commission. The city is being awarded a $5,000 grant, with no local match required, for collection and program development at the Beaumont Public Library System.

The city council voted to approve a lease agreement with Enterprise FM Trust for the lease of 39 vehicles.

The city council voted to award a $102,915 contract to Neon Electric Corporation for the construction of bus shelters in various locations.

The contract funds the installation of nine bus shelters.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Council Member Gethrel Williams-Wright absent. Agenda
