Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to elect Yolanda Ford as mayor pro tem.
Ford, along with Anthony Maroulis and Floyd Emery, took their oath of office for new terms on the city council, after being re-elected on November 7. Jeffrey Boney was also sworn in as the new city council member for District B. Boney succeeds Don Smith, who did not seek re-election.
Smith was recognized for his 13 years of service to the city.
The city council voted unanimously to reappoint William Wallace to the Fort Bend Subsidence District Board of Directors.
The city council voted unanimously to cast the city's vote in favor of electing Mike Sullivan to the Harris County Appraisal District Board of Directors.
The city council voted 4-3, with Ford, Boney and Chris Preston opposed, to adopt a policy limiting the use of city resources for community meetings and town halls held within 30 days of city elections.
