Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, including Friday's fatal shooting of a man at 7100 South Gessner.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7100 South Gessner

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 7100 South Gessner about 5:45 p.m. last Friday (November 24).

The identity of the victim, believed to be in his late teens or early 20s, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers J. Fay and M. Arrington reported:

Officers responded to a report of a drive-by shooting at the above address and found the victim being treated by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  The male was then transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses reported seeing a 2016 or 2017 black Chrysler 300 fleeing the scene after the shooting.

Investigation into Shooting Incident at 8311 Flossie Mae

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 8311 Flossie Mae about 11:05 p.m. last Wednesday (November 22).

The victim, 25, was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Officers M. Barrow and R. Watson reported:

The victim arrived to a residence on Flossie Mae to visit an acquaintance when, while still sitting inside his vehicle, a suspect appeared and began to shoot at the victim.  The victim drove away from the scene and stopped at a nearby gas station to call for help.  Paramedics arrived and transported him to the hospital.  He sustained wounds to one of his eyes and wrists. 

The victim advised investigators he knows the suspect.  The investigation is ongoing.

Investigation into Shooting Incident at 1800 Jefferson

Houston police are investigating a shooting incident that wounded three men at 1800 Jefferson about 2:20 a.m. on Saturday (November 25).

The victims were transported to area hospitals in unknown conditions.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Sergeant D. Fontenot and Detective T. Ferguson reported:

The three male victims said they left a nightclub at 1500 Pease and were traveling in a black Chrysler Aspen when a vehicle, believed to be a silver Mercedes SUV, pulled up alongside them.  One or more persons in the SUV then fired shots at the Chrysler. 

The victims then drove to an area where HPD officers were investigating a different incident and requested assistance. 

Upon investigation, officers found multiple fired shell casings at the intersection of 1800 Jefferson and 1700 Hamilton.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 3300 Navigation

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 3300 Navigation at 12:55 a.m. on Sunday (November 26).

The identity of the male victim, 33, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant E. Fendia and J. Crisler reported:

The victim was operating his Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Navigation when he lost control of the motorcycle, laid it down and continued traveling westbound.  The victim and the motorcycle then left the roadway and came to a rest in a vacant lot on the north side of the street.  The victim was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced deceased at the scene. 

There were no other vehicles nor persons involved in this crash.  

The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 15400 South Post Oak

Houston police are investigating the fatal crash that occurred at 15400 South Post Oak at about 3:20 p.m. on Sunday (November 26).

The identity of the male victim, 91, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant M. Warhol and Officer L. Tram reported:

The driver of a blue Toyota Tundra was traveling northbound on South Post Oak when the victim attempted to cross the street, not at a crosswalk.  The driver was not able to stop in time and struck the victim.  The victim as pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver, who remained at the scene, was questioned and released.  

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2600 West Airport

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 2600 West Airport about 5:10 a.m. last Thursday (Nov. 23).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 59, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Williams and Senior Officer R. Bymaster reported:

The victim was driving a gold Lexus RX 400 westbound on West Airport when she failed to control her speed and disregarded a stop light at the Almeda Rd. intersection.  The Lexus then struck a road-striping construction machine on the other side of the intersection.  Paramedics transported the victim to Memorial Hermann Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.

The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 10900 East Freeway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 10900 East Freeway (East Interstate Highway 10) at about 10:30 a.m. last Friday (November 24).

The identity of the deceased female victim, 68, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant C. Williams and Officer D. Ashford reported:

The driver of a tan GMC Sierra pickup truck changed lanes but, due to his view being obstructed by an 18-wheeler, he did not see a white Nissan Sentra stopped partially on the shoulder and in a lane of traffic.  The GMC struck the Nissan, pushing the Nissan into the grassy area between the shoulder and feeder road.  The Nissan then caught fire.  The driver of the GMC attempted to rescue the driver of the Nissan before the vehicle became engulfed in flames, but was unsuccessful.  The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the GMC suffered burns to his hands during the attempted rescue and was treated by paramedics. 

The GMC driver was questioned and released.  The investigation is continuing.  No charges have been filed at this time.

Investigation into Man Found Deceased at 6767 Telephone Road

Houston police are investigating the death of a male found at 6767 Telephone Road at about 9:50 a.m. last Friday (November 24).

The identity of the victim, believed to be 25 to 35 years of age, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Officers T. Colbert and R. Ridel reported:

Houston Fire Department personnel responded to a report of a person down outside Ortiz Middle School at the above address.  Upon arrival, they found the victim deceased from an apparent gunshot wound.

Investigation into Woman's Death at 6645 Granite

Houston police are investigating the death of a woman following a house fire at 6645 Granite at 3:25 a.m. on Sunday (November 26).

The identity of the female victim, 77, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Horn and Detective T. Jackson reported:

Houston Fire Department personnel responded to a house fire at the above address and located a severely burned man outside the house.  He was transported him to Memorial Hermann Hospital in critical condition.  The male's mother (victim) was found deceased inside the house from apparent fire injuries. 

HFD Arson investigators responded to scene and found no traces of accelerant or intentional causes to the fire.

The investigation is continuing.
