This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast region include “A Christmas Carol” at various locations and “Scrooge” in Beaumont.

The Grand 1894 Opera House will present Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” on Friday at 8 p.m. and on Saturday at 3 p.m.

A timeless tale of hope and redemption, A Christmas Carol has enchanted audiences around the world since it was first published in 1843,” said a news release. “The miserly Ebenezer Scrooge, his overworked-underpaid clerk Bob Cratchit, the angelic Tiny Tim, and the Ghosts of Christmases Past, Present, and Future come together in a highly entertaining theatrical performance.News Release

Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay also launches a production of “A Christmas Carol” on Friday at 8 p.m. Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Their production of the classic tale runs through December 17.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson will open its take on “A Christmas Carol” on Thursday at 8 p.m. Additional performances are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through December 17.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues its holiday production of “A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas” this week.

Performances are on Thursday and Friday at 7:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through December 30.

Other holiday performances include “Scrooge”, which opens on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The production is presented by the Beaumont Community Players at the Betty Greenberg Center.

An additional performance is on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. The show runs through December 16.

Main Street Theater in Houston continues its production of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley” at the Rice Village stage.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show runs through December 17.

Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company in Galveston wraps up with “Love & Money” this week. Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m.

Upcoming performances include “One Moneky Don’t Stop No Show”, presented by Beaumont Community Players and opening January 19, and “The Great Society”, opening at Alley Theater on January 26.
