American Marketing Association Houston nominates San Jacinto College
for prestigious marketing award

HOUSTON – The American Marketing Association Houston Chapter has identified San Jacinto College as one of 54 finalists for 20 different industry-based award categories for the 2017 Marketer of the Year (MOTY) Awards to be held Monday, Dec. 4, 2017, at the Houston Museum of Natural Science.

The College is a finalist in the education category for its promotion of the Aspen Institute Rising Star Award, which named San Jacinto College one of the top five community colleges in the country in March of this year.

The American Marketing Association’s Marketer of the Year Award recognizes marketing teams across Texas for their yearly marketing initiatives. MOTY distinguishes the top performers in the Texas marketing community for doing what they do best: branding a company, reaching a new audience, growing the business and changing perceptions. At the award ceremony, one finalist will be announced as the overall Marketer of the Year.

“We are thrilled to be a finalist in the AMA Houston Marketer of the Year education category again this year,” said Teri Crawford, San Jacinto College vice chancellor, marketing, public relations and government affairs. “It is an honor to be recognized by our peers in the industry for the amazing work that our entire marketing and public relations does everyday to promote San Jacinto College.”

In addition to the overall and categorical winners, this year Sysco will present a new sponsored award called the Sysco Innovator Award. This new award recognizes an individual or company for vision, purpose, resourcefulness and innovation with regards to marketing.
