Clear Creek ISD Board of Trustees
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, November 28, 2017

The Clear Creek Independent School District Board of Trustees on Monday voted unanimously to cast the district's 706 votes in favor of re-electing Scott Brast to the Galveston Central Appraisal District Board of Directors.

Brast, along with Victor Pierson, Clay Morrison, David Moss and Kevin Corcoran are seeking re-election to the five-member board, and Vaun Henry, Mary Trish Hanks, Roney McCrary and Bruce Clawson have also been nominated for election to the board. Galveston County Tax Assessor-Collector Cheryl Johnson also serves on the board as an ex-officio member. Taxing entities in Galveston County may cast a number of ballots based on their percentage of the overall tax levy of the county.

The board voted to approve a $300,000 contract with Disaster Recovery and Risk Solutions, LLC for consulting services related to Hurricane Harvey insurance and Federal Emergency Management Agency recovery requirements.

The board voted to award an $11,855,200 contract to Teal Construction for the Brookside, League City and Space Center Intermediate Schools Project.

The project will be funded through the district's bond program, and includes the addition of a science magnet area for Brookside Intermediate, as well as fine arts additions and renovations at all three campuses, plus additional priority repairs and replacements.

The board voted to award a $751,930 contract to Fieldturf USA, Inc. for the replacement of storm damaged synthetic turf at Clear Springs High School and Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The turf was damaged during Hurricane Harvey.

All action items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
