Investigation into Fatal Crash at 4400 Pinemont

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 4400 Pinemont about 2:05 p.m. on Tuesday (November 28).

The identity of the male victim, 60, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer M. Burton reported:

The victim was driving a maroon Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck eastbound on Pinemont at the intersection of T. C. Jester.  Witnesses reported seeing the driver slumped over the wheel as the vehicle weaved in and out of the roadway.  The vehicle then struck a fire hydrant on the south side of Pinemont, spun around and struck several fence posts and a gate.  HFD paramedics transported the driver to Memorial Hermann Northwest Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.  The female passenger, the driver's wife, was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition.

According to the passenger, her husband became unresponsive prior to the crash.

The investigation is continuing.
