Enochs files for County Commissioner

FRIENDSWOOD, Texas - Air Force Major and former Friendswood City Councilman, Billy Enochs, officially filed to run for Galveston County Commissioner Precinct 4 in the 2018 Republican Primary, pledging to bring change to the precinct held by the current incumbent for over 20 years.

“Galveston County is growing and we need solid leadership to help us move into the next decade,” said Enochs. “Twenty years is too long to hold an elected position, too many ethical questions. The county government has become stagnant in addressing our economic and infrastructure needs, it’s time to change that."

Enochs previously served two terms on Friendswood City Council as Mayor Pro-Tem and was instrumental in passing the city's 2012 and 2017 budgets; addressing the city's critical infrastructure needs.

Enochs has a distinguished career both as a businessman and Airman. He currently serves as Director of Performance Improvement and Safety for Memorial Hermann and is Public Health Officer for the 147th Reconnaissance Wing Medical Group at Ellington Field. He currently holds the rank of Major.

He has been deployed to various overseas and domestic assignments, including Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans where he helped establish search and rescue efforts for the 30,000 evacuees stranded in the city.

“I look forward to running a clean and positive campaign over the next few months, and I am determined to bring strong leadership and change to county government,” Enochs said.

Enochs holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Houston at Clear Lake and a Master of Public Health from the University of Texas at Houston. He is married to Robin and has four daughters and two grandchildren.
