Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast region include “The Nutcracker” in Galveston.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present the City Ballet of Houston for the “The Nutcracker” on on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and on Sunday at 2 p.m.

“The Nutcracker tells a story of a young girl who dreams of a Nutcracker Prince, a Sugar Plum Fairy and a fierce battle against a Mouse King,” said a news release. “Following the two afternoon performances, audiences are encouraged to also experience the ‘behind the scenes magic’ of The Nutcracker.” News Release

Tonight, the Grand 1894 Opera House will host “An Evening with Lyle Lovett” at 7:30 p.m.

Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay continues its production of “A Christmas Carol” this week, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Their production of the classic tale runs through December 17.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson continues its take on “A Christmas Carol” othis week, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through December 17.

The Alley Theatre in Houston continues its holiday production of “A Christmas Carol – A Ghost Story of Christmas” this week.

Performances are on Wednesday through Friday at 7:30 p.m., as well as on Saturday and Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The show runs through December 30.

Other holiday performances include “Scrooge”, which continues this week with performances on on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The production is presented by the Beaumont Community Players at the Betty Greenberg Center.

The show runs through December 16.

Main Street Theater in Houston continues its production of “Miss Bennet: Christmas at Pemberley” at the Rice Village stage.

Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m., on Sunday at 3 p.m. The show runs through December 17.

Upcoming performances include “Sleeping Beauty and Her Winter Knight”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars in Houston and opening December 12, and “The Great Society”, opening at Alley Theater on January 26.
