by John David Suayan
Monday, December 04, 2017

Galveston County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to approve a partial payment reimbursement of $1 million to the City of Santa Fe for the FM 646 right-of-way acquisition.

“In July of 2011, the county entered into an interlocal agreement with the City of Santa Fe and the economic development arm of the city, who advanced $1.3 million for right-of-way acquisition for FM 646 project,” said County Engineer Michael Shannon. Listen (3:35)

“The construction is occurring right now on the project. Right-of-way acquisition is complete. We have reimbursed all but one parcel.”

Shannon said the parcel has been submitted for reimbursement, “but our expenses should be complete on the project.”

The commissioners court voted unanimously to receive and file a request for cell phones for two Bailiff Division sergeants.

The commissioners court voted unanimously to award a contract for the transport of human remains to Carnes Funeral Home.

The commissioners court deferred an item pertaining to reappointments to the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District.

The commissioners court met in executive session, but took no subsequent action.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously with all members present. Agenda
