Fort Bend County
Missouri City City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, December 05, 2017

Missouri City City Council on Monday voted unanimously to accept the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for FY2017.

The city's fiscal year had ended June 30. Whitley Penn, the city's auditing firm, conducted the audit, and issued an unqualified opinion. The opinion is the highest assurance that the city's financial statements accurately reflected the city's financial position for the year.

The city council voted to grant, on first reading, a specific use permit to allow for the location of a telecommunications tower and equipment at a religious place of assembly at 3900 Raoul Wallenberg Lane.

Congregation Beth El, a synagogue, has been approached by T-Mobile to construct a new cell tower site on its property.

The city council approve the first reading, but after discussions regarding whether the tower would employ internal or external antennas. The item will be further discussed in an executive session at its second reading.

The city council voted to approve a letter of approval for Rocket EMS, LLC to operate a non-emergency ambulance service in the city.

The city council voted to approve an interlocal agreement with Fort Bend County for funding related to improvements to Glenn Lakes Boulevard at the Oyster Creek Tributary.

The county has $500,000 available in mobility bond funds to pay for improvements to the Glenn Lakes Bridge over the Oyster Creek Tributary. Glenn Lakes Bridge has been in service since the 1970s, and requires replacement. The cost of the project is estimated to total $1,100,000.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
