Friendswood City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve a motion to direct the city attorney to draft a letter of intent for promoting Morad Kabiri as city manager as discussed in closed session.

Kabiri currently serves as assistant city manager. Roger Roecker had served as city manager prior.

The city council voted to confirm the appointments of Brandee Fernandez and Michael Fernandez as regular members of the Keep Friendswood Beautiful Committee.

The city council voted to approve, on final reading, an ordinance repealing of the adoption of the revised Federal Emergency Management Agency Flood Insurance Study dated June 18, 2007, which established the areas of special flood hazard for a portion of a city within Harris County.

The city council voted to schedule the January city council meeting for January 8.
