Houston City Council today voted unanimously to approve payment to Melange Fine Cuisine Inc. to address emergency disaster recovery activities because of Hurricane Harvey for prepared meals to relief workers in an amount of $136,088 for the Office of Emergency Management.

Melange provided emergency food service and bottled water for the staff of the Houston Emergency Center during emergency operations for Hurricane Harvey from August 25, 2017 through September 7, 2017. Item Summary

The city council voted unanimously to award a contract to Precision Task Group, Inc. through the Texas Department of Information Resources in an amount not to exceed $2.62 million for licenses and software maintenance for the Enterprise Service Management Portal, the primary IT Service Management Tool, Service Now, for Houston Information Technology Services.

The city council voted unanimously to appoint Dr. Donald Richard Collins to the Houston Ethics Commission.

Dave Martin cast the lone opposing votes to the following two items:

  • Recommendation from Acting Director Department of Public Works & Engineering for payment to Texas Commission On Environmental Quality for Annual Consolidated Water Quality Fee for FY18 for the City’s Wastewater Treatment Plants.
  • Recommendation from Acting Director Department of Public Works & Engineering for payment to Texas Commission On Environmental Quality for 2018 Water System Fees.

The city council took no action on the following four items:

  • Ordinance amending Sections 11-63, and 11-68 of the Code of Ordinances, Houston, Texas, relating to burglar alarm permits and penalties, pulled from the agenda.
  • Recommendation from the Director of the Houston Emergency Center for approval of the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network for Fiscal Year 2018 Budget January 1, 2018 through December 31, 2018, tagged by Brenda Stardig and Michael Kubosh.
  • Ordinance approving and authorizing Professional Services Agreement for Legal Services between the City of Houston and Susman Godfrey, LLP, for representation of the City in the case styled: City of Houston v. Towers Watson & Co: Civil Action No. 14-CV-02213, tagged by Kubosh.
  • Ordinance appropriating $3,000,000.00 out of Water & Sewer System Consolidated Construction Fund and $1,000,000.00 out of the Street & Traffic Control & Storm Drainage DDSRF for fiscal year 2018 funding for Developer Participation Contracts (approved by Ordinance No. 2008-0307, as amended), tagged by Kubosh.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously with Mayor Sylvester Turner, Greg Travis, Jerry Davis, and Larry Green absent. Agenda
