Fort Bend County
Sugar Land City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, December 06, 2017

Sugar Land City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to award a $475,000 contract to W. W. Payton Corporation for the replacement of the booster pumps at the Lakeview and Sugar Creek Groundwater Plants.

The motion included a budget reduction of $112,500 to be placed in the the Capital Improvement Project fund balance.

W. W. Payton submitted the lowest bid out of five provided for the project. Due to the favorable bids, city staff recommended the budget reduction back to the CIP fund balance.

The city council voted to authorize the issuance of refunding bonds in the amount of $6,765,000 by Fort Bend County Municipal Utility District No. 137.

The district is wholly incorporated within the city limits, and is one of four districts serving the Telfair development.

The proceeds from the bonds will be used to refinance existing debt at a lower interest rate in order to reduce costs.

The city council voted to award a $344,000 contract to Prime Controls for SCADA instrumentation and controls for the New Territory and Greatwood water facilities.

All action items were approved. All votes were unanimous with all members present. Agenda
