The Galveston Fire Department Prepares for 2nd Annual Santa’s Island Tour

Galveston, Texas – Last year hundreds of families lined Galveston’s streets to catch a glimpse of Santa as he rode throughout the island on an antique fire truck. With so much love for St. Nick, the Galveston Fire Department will bring back the island’s newest tradition this year on December 18th, 19th, and 20th, covering the Island from east to west each night. How It Works

GFD will escort Santa on a fire truck each night through the streets of Galveston to wave at all of the little girls and boys who are anticipating his December 25th arrival! Each night he will begin on the routes posted below at 6pm. We would encourage any residents whose streets are not shown to join your neighbors on the street closest to your home and listen for the lights and sirens.

The Schedule

Santa will travel the following routes each night from 6:00pm - 7:30pm each night.

You can view the maps and schedule online at

That’s Not All Folks

GFD & Santa will also be participating in the December 16th parade in our Historic Downtown which begins at 6:30pm. The parade will run from 25th & Shearns Moody Plaza, to Post Office, to 19th Street, and down Strand. The route is the same route the City utilizes during Mardi Gras’ Fat Tuesday Parade.
