Bayou Vista City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Wednesday, December 13, 2017

Bayou Vista City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to approve a proposal from CenterPoint Energy to relocate and install LED street lights at a cost of $7,656.

The city council voted unanimously to award a contract to B.R. Bulkheads to replace the city's bulkhead on property located between Warsaw and Pompano.

The city council tabled action regarding an engagement letter with Whitley-Penn for accounting services.

The city council voted 4-1, with Tami Inman opposed, to amend the city's Code of Ordinances regarding development standards for lots restricted or used for single-family residential use to clarify that the rental of all or part of a building on a residential lot for a term shorter than 30 days shall be deemed to be a commercial purpose and considered unlawful.

The ordinance also prohibits the rental of motor homes or travel trailers, and clarifies what is prohibited on a lot during new construction, among other changes.

All other action items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
