Dickinson City Council on Tuesday voted 4-2, with Louis Decker and Walter Wilson opposed, to approve a second amended budget for the Dickinson Economic Development Corporation for FY2018.

The amended budget includes variosu changes, including $260,000 in additional miscellaneous revenue due to the sale of two properties to the Texas Department of Transportation.

Other changes included $360,000 added to the retail trade center project for property acquisition, which includes the full cost of the new economic development project manager.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize the Dickinson Economic Development Corporation to establish a project offering recovery grants to small businesses suffering operational disruption and damages from Hurricane Harvey. A total of $200,000 is being set aside for the project, which will provide qualifying small businesses a maximum of $10,000 per recipient.

The city council took no action regarding public hearings and action items related to property at 103 Avenue L for development of an RV Park. The items were pulled at the request of the developer.

The city council voted unanimously to reallocate existing unassigned funds in the Hurricane Harvey Repair Grant Program to residential applicants.

The city council took no action resulting from executive session discussions regarding pending litigation and personnel matters regarding the city administrator.
