Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the weekend, including Saturday's fatal shooting of a man and wounding of another at 9232 Richmond Avenue, which will be referred to a Harris County Grand Jury.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9232 Richmond Avenue

The fatal shooting of one male and the wounding of another that occurred at 9232 Richmond Avenue about 8:30 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 16) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the deceased male, believed to be in his 20s, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Dominguez and Detective B. Roberts reported:

Officers responded to a shooting at the above address and were told by witnesses about a confrontation between a group of individuals.  At some point, an additional male joined the group and there was an exchange of gunfire.  Two males sustained gunshot wounds and were transported by private vehicles to area hospitals.  One male was pronounced deceased at the hospital.  The other male was in stable condition with non life-threatening injuries.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 7025 Sayers

The fatal shooting of a woman at 7025 Sayers about 8:15 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 17) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identity of the victim, 20, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Thomas and Officer R. Moss reported:

The victim drove to her ex-boyfriend's residence and waited for him to return home.  When he arrived with another woman, the victim became angry and began a verbal and physical confrontation with the woman.  The victim picked up a shovel and started swinging it at her ex-boyfriend.  The male managed to take the shovel away from the female.  She then went to her vehicle, retrieved a knife and began walking toward the passenger seat of a vehicle where the other woman was seated.  At that time, the woman, 22, retrieved a pistol.  When the victim opened the car door, the woman fired one shot, striking the female victim in the head.  Paramedics pronounced her deceased at the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting of Man Found at 1635 North Loop West

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man transported to a hospital at 1635 North Loop West (North Interstate Highway 610 West) about 11 p.m. on Saturday (Dec. 16).

The victim is identified as Tralynd Green, 21, of Houston.

HPD Homicide Division Officers G. Black and L. Kauffman reported:

Mr. Green was transported to Memorial Hermann Greater Heights Hospital at the above address via private car to seek treatment.  Security personnel called HPD to advise that Green had arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.  Doctors pronounced Green deceased a short time later. 

The location of this shooting incident is unknown at this time.

Investigation into Shooting at 7500 Bissonnet

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 7500 Bissonnet about 10:50 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 17).

The victim, James Tillis, 29, was transported to an area hospital for treatment of a gunshot wound to his right leg.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Detectives A. Williams and B. Salazar reported:

Officers were dispatched to a drive-by shooting at an apartment complex at the above address and learned Mr. Tillis had been shot and transported to the hospital.  

The suspects are described only as one black male and one Hispanic male seen running from the scene.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1615 South Loop West

A man critically injured in a crash that occurred at 1615 South Loop West service road at 2:40 a.m. on December 7 has died from his injuries.

The victim, Carl Lockhart, 57, was pronounced dead at an area hospital on Saturday (Dec. 16).

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer G. Anderson reported:

Mr. Lockhart had trespassed onto private property at the above address and was sleeping underneath a parked semi-tractor and trailer.  The driver of the tractor-trailer began to pull away from the loading dock and was unaware of Lockhart lying beneath his vehicle.  The driver's coworker heard Lockhart yelling and alerted the driver, who stopped.  Lockhart was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital in critical condition.
