Spindletop Center Receives $4,500 Donation from Mike Smith Nissan

BEAUMONT, Texas — Spindletop Center received a $4,500 donation from Mike Smith Nissan in Beaumont on Nov. 28 to continue enhancing its programs for Hurricane Harvey relief.

Southeast Texans are still feeling the aftermath of the devastation the hurricane brought to the community in late August. As one of the few nonprofit organizations devoted to the emotional needs of the community, Spindletop Center will continue its mission to help people help themselves by providing resources and supports to those impacted by the storm.

“Spindletop Center has always been great to Mike Smith Nissan,” said Kevin Swearingen, general manager of Mike Smith Nissan. “They’re a very deserving organization and help so many people, so I was happy to offer support to their ongoing efforts.”

With the help of the charitable donation from Mike Smith Nissan, Spindletop Center will continue to expand its outreach and support activities to address the immediate and long-term effects, signs and symptoms of disaster-related trauma, while putting the message of hope and recovery at the forefront of those efforts.
