Galveston County Commissioners Court today voted 4-1, with Darrell Apffel opposed, to maintain the county’s floodplain permit requirements as currently written, as well as formulate a response to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

The court voted unanimously to approve the county judge authorizing and executing an interlocal agreement with Mainland Children’s Partnership.

The court voted unanimously to recognize the retirement of Jeff Modzelewski from the auditor department.

The court voted unanimously to approve an interlocal cooperation agreement with Walker County for jail services.

The county voted unanimously to enter into an interlocal agreement with the City of Galveston  for services related to Galveston County Beach Pocket Parks 1, 2, 3, and 4, Ft. Crockett, McAllis Point, Galveston Seawall and Ostemayer Bayou.

The court deferred an item pertaining to reappointments to the Harris-Galveston Subsidence District.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously with all members present. Agenda
