Houston City Council, in a consolidated meeting held Tuesday, voted 14-2, with Michael Kubosh and Brenda Stardig opposed, to approve the Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network’s annual budget of $61,165,000 for budget year 2018.

The forthcoming budget is a decrease of approximately $6.8 million from their 2017 budget. Item Summary

The city council voted unanimously to enter into an agreement for professional aviation consulting services with ICF SH&E, Inc. for the Houston Airport System and authorizing the funding for the cost of these services.

The city council voted unanimously to enter into a professional services contract with the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership. The contract is for a term of 3 years, at $150,000, to be paid through the city's hotel occupancy tax proceeds. BAHEP will provide services to include industry recruitment strategy, focusing on healthcare and educational facilities, technology companies, program integration, specialty chemical and high-end manufacturing business.

The city council voted unanimously to approve an ordinance relating to the rescheduling or postponement of certain city council meetings. Item Summary

The city council did not take action on the following four items:

  • Ordinance approving and authorizing agreement between the City of Houston and APTIM Environmental & Infrastructure, Inc. to provide Master Program Management Services for Disaster related projects, did not make it to the council table in time.
  • Ordinance awarding contract to Southwest Texas Equipment Dist., Inc., doing business as QBR Leasing, for Ice Machine Rental Services for Various Departments, did not make it to the council table in time.
  • Ordinance approving and authorizing contract between the City and The Dean G. Pappas Law Firm PLLC for Professional Legal Services relating to the Workers' Compensation Benefits Program, tagged by Greg Travis.
  • Ordinance approving, authorizing and awarding Single Stream Recycling Agreement between the City of Houston and Fomento De Construcciones Y Contratas, Inc. d/b/a FCC SA for the Solid Waste Management Department, tagged by Michael Kubosh and Steve Le.

All other agenda items were approved unanimously with Mike Knox absent. Agenda Video
