Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the holiday weekend, including Monday's fatal shooting at 13573 Dunlap.
 
Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 13573 Dunlap

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a female and the wounding of a male at 13573 Dunlap about 11:10 p.m. on Monday (December 25).  

The identity of the female victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.  

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants S. Murdock and M. Holbrook reported:  

Witnesses saw a female lying in the street near Dunlap and Hillcroft with two black males standing beside her.  Both males then fled the scene in a black NIssan.  Witnesses realized the female had been shot and called police.  HFD paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced her deceased.  

Investigators determined an employee of a game room near the above address was also shot.  He was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital in stable condition.  

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.

Investigation into Shooting at 2100 Fannin Street

Houston police are investigating the shooting of two people that occurred about 11 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 23).

The male and female victims were transported to Ben Taub General Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

HPD Major Assaults Squad Officers K. Persad and L. Patterson reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting at the above address.  Upon arrival, they observed two people suffering gunshot wounds.  According to victim and witnesses statements, the shooting was the result of a physical altercation between people at that location.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 800 Federal Road

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 800 Federal Road about 4:25 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 23).

The female victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  Her identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer J. Crisler reported:

HPD patrol officers responded to a crash at near the intersection of Federal Road and Fleming.  Upon arrival, they learned the crash involved two people on a motorcycle.  A preliminary investigation determined the male motorcyclist was operating the Harley-Davidson motorcycle at a high rate of speed when he failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway, and struck a guardrail.  Both he and his female passenger (victim) were thrown from motorcycle into a drainage ditch.  The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Ben Taub General Hospital and is expected to survive his injuries.

There are no charges at this time, as the investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 900 Bay Area Boulevard

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 900 Bay Area Boulevard about 11:20 p.m. on Sunday (Dec. 24).

The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer R. Singleton reported:

The victim was driving a black Nissan Versa eastbound at the above address when he failed to maintain a single lane, left the roadway, and struck a concrete wall at the bridge over a drainage ditch.  The Nissan then rolled onto its roof in the ditch and caught fire.  Houston firefighters responded and discovered the victim after putting out the flames. 

No other vehicles nor motorists were involved in this incident.
The investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 2200 West Sam Houston Parkway

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 2200 West Sam Houston Parkway service road about 7:40 a.m. on Saturday (Dec. 23).

A male victim, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene.  A female victim, 29, was transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital where she was pronounced deceased.  The identities of both victims are pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant K. Harris and Officer H. Nguyen reported:

The driver of a blue Oldsmobile sedan traveling eastbound on Hammerly, ran a red light at the above address, and was struck by a gray Nissan Titan pickup truck.  A rear seat passenger (male victim) in the Oldsmobile was pronounced dead at the scene, while the front seat passenger (female victim) was transported to an area hospital where she was pronounced dead.  The Oldsmobile’s driver and a second rear seat passenger were also transported to Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in unknown condition.

The driver of the Nissan was not injured.

There are no charges at this time, as the investigation is continuing.
