Houston International Seafarer Center opens new Seafarers Landing Restaurant at the Howard T. Tellepsen Center

HOUSTON, Texas - The Howard T. Tellepsen Center is pleased to announce the opening of the new Seafarers Landing Restaurant to the public at the Houston International Seafarers Center’s new home at 9750 High Level Road in Houston. On January 8, 2018 the restaurant will offer breakfast and lunch menus, operating from 7 AM to 2 PM, Monday through Friday. The facility can service 60-80 customers at one time.

The Seafarers Landing Restaurant is owned and operated by Executive Chef Ron Collins and his wife, Margaret Lucas. Chef Collins has been in the food industry for over 40 years, training in Europe, Mexico, and the United States and has been head chef for several companies in the restaurant business as well as owning various restaurants in Texas. Lucas also has been in food industry and owns: Cake Shoppe Huffman. Seafarers Landing will also be offering catering services to customers.

The Seafarer Center brings a legacy of over 40 years of service at the Howard T. Tellepsen Center as the first ecumenical seafarers’ center in the U.S. Its mission remains the same over time: to minister to seafarers and to provide them with a home away from home. The visiting seafarers are from 70 countries and in the oil, gas, automotive and other industries. The Center serves about 5,000 seafarers a year, offering a place for solace and fellowship.
