On December 30, 2017 Houston Fire Department rescue crews  were dispatched to a car in the bayou at Katy Fwy IB at Studemont.

Upon arrival, it was obvious there was a black small four door sedan in the bayou.  There were three occupants in the vehicle when the vehicle entered the bayou. A 10 year old female was initially assisted out of the vehicle by bystanders on bicycles via the right back door. A firefighter  carried the 10 year old female from the south side of the bayou to the north side of the bayou, where she was assisted by other firefighters.. The driver was approximately in his mid 20’s.

Crews placed ground ladders across the bayou to enable easier passage across the bayou. The driver was assisted across and was also assisted up the steep embankment. . The front seat passenger was an approximately 70 year old female who was removed from the vehicle via stokes basket and slide across the ground ladders to the north side of the bayou. Rescue crews set-up  a pully system to tie the stokes basket to assist the FF’s in going up the steep embankment. Once the FF’s had reached stable ground, the elder female was transferred to the stretcher via backboard and loaded into the ambulance. All three patients were transported to the hospital.

Cause may have been medical emergency or "other issue".
