Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the New Year holiday, including Monday's fatal shooting of a man at 731 Fawn Drive.

UPDATE: Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 731 Fawn Drive
 
The fatal shooting of a man at 731 Fawn Drive about 5 a.m. on Monday (Jan. 1) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The victim, Phillip R. Mejias, 36, was pronounced dead at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant S. Murdock and Officer H. Hay reported:

Mr. Mejias and his younger brother got into an argument that turned physical.  Following the confrontation, Mejias followed the younger brother home and attempted to enter the brother's residence.  At that time, the younger brother shot Mejias multiple times as he (Mejias) was breaking into the back door of the home.

The younger brother, 25, was questioned by investigators and released without charges at this time.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 827 Oak Street

The fatal shooting of a burglary suspect at 827 Oak Street about 6 a.m. on Monday (January 1) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury. 

The identity of the male suspect is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

The female shooter was not injured in the incident. 

HPD Homicide Division Detectives D. Stark and A. Barr reported: 

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and were told by a female (shooter) that a male she has seen around the apartment complex broke into her apartment while she was sleeping.  She was awakened by the sound of breaking glass and then saw the suspect in her bedroom.  As the suspect walked over to her bed, she grabbed a pistol near her and fired at him.  The suspect was struck and pronounced dead at the scene.  The woman was not injured.
 
Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 5404 Nordling

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 5404 Nordling about 11 p.m. last Friday (December 29). 

The victim, Cameron Lherault, 19, was pronounced dead at the scene. 

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Detective M. Condon reported: 

Mr. Lherault was found deceased inside a vehicle parked in a convenience store parking lot at the above address.  He had suffered at least one gunshot wound. 

At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspects.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 3500 West Orem

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man found at 3500 West Orem about 9:45 p.m. last Friday (December 29). 

The identity of the victim, 22, is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences. 

HPD Homicide Division Officers S. Jimenez and T. Jackson reported: 

The victim was shot by unknown suspects in an apparent drive-by shooting as he was near the street at the above address.  Several unknown males attempted to provide medical assistance to the victim, but left the scene prior to the arrival of HPD patrol officers.  The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

At this time, there is no known motive for the shooting.

Investigation into Shooting at 6100 Glenmont

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man at 6100 Glenmont about 1:05 a.m. on Saturday (December 30). 

The victim, Marcos Marin-Ramirez, 30, was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. 

HPD Homicide Division Officers R. Naughton and J. Hasley reported: 

HPD patrol officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found Mr. Marin-Ramirez inside his vehicle with a gunshot wound.  HFD paramedics transported him to the hospital. 

At this time, there are no known witnesses nor suspects.
