Harris County Commissioners Court today voted unanimously to authorize the county judge to execute an agreement with PGAL, Inc., in the amount of $1,064,815 for architecture and engineering services for a facilities condition assessment report of the NRG Complex.

“This is the contract to doing an analysis of what it is going to take to keep the complex other than the Astrodome up and running and in good shape for future years because that’s always been a major concern,” said County Judge Ed Emmett. Listen (:41)

The court voted unanimously to negotiate an agreement with Montgomery County in connection with an interlocal agreement for a partnership in applying for a county-wide Texas Water Development Board Flood Protection Planning Grant for the San Jacinto River Watershed.

The court voted unanimously to provide additional funding in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for a dedicated position with the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District, to review requests for wetland verifications, jurisdictional determinations, and related permitting actions, and to continue with a memorandum of agreement executed on January 8, 2009.

The court voted unanimously to approve a memorandum of understanding with Making It Better for a mobile library that focuses on language development and pre-reading skills.

The court voted unanimously to renew the Houston TranStar Consortium interlocal agreement between the county, Texas Department of Transportation, City of Houston, and Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County for the continued lease and operation of Houston TranStar for a lease term of 10 years with an option to renew for an additional 10-year term.

The court voted unanimously to reappoint Jarrod Boehme, Christopher Bennett, Raymond Russell, and Eric Bass to the Houston Ship Channel Security District Board of Directors.

Steve Radack abstained on an item approving sole source exemptions from the competitive bid requirements for Phonoscope, Inc.

All other agenda items, with minor exceptions, were approved unanimously with all members present. Agenda
