Tuesday, January 09, 2018

Nassau Bay City Council on Monday voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, an ordinance calling an election for May 5 to elect the mayor and three council positions.

Mayor Bob Denman and council members Sandra Mossman, Bryce Klug and Bob Warters have terms expiring in May.

Filing for candidates in the election begins on January 17 and ends on February 16.

The city council voted 5-1, with Council Member Bob Warters opposed, to form an advisory committee to provide further recommendations on the future status of special use permits, and to monitor progress and evaluate current permit restrictions. The motion was made in consideration of rescinding a special use permit to operate an automotive repair shop at 1910 NASA Parkway.

The city council voted unanimously to approve the minutes of the December 11 city council meeting.

The city council voted unanimously to approve a resolution updating the city's Investment Policy.

No other action items were on the agenda. Council Member Jonathan Amdur was absent. Agenda
