Houston police are investigating several incidents that occurred during the holiday weekend, including Friday's fatal shooting of a man at 9000 Beechnut.

Investigation into Fatal Shooting at 9000 Beechnut

Houston police are investigating the fatal shooting of a male that occurred at 9000 Beechnut about 4:30 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 12).

The identity of the male victim is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant J. Rhoads and Officer E. May reported:

Officers responded to a shooting call at the above address and found a male had been shot.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was pronounced dead.  At this time, there is no known motive nor suspect(s) in the shooting.

Investigation into Fatal Stabbing at 3131 Hayes
 
The fatal stabbing of a male that occurred at 3131 Hayes Road about 11:50 p.m. on Sunday (Jan. 14) will be referred to a Harris County grand jury.

The identify of the deceased male is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant K. Meek and Detective S. Overstreet reported:

Officers responded to a person down call at the above address and found a male, who had been stabbed multiple times.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  Officers learned the male had forced his way into his apartment after his girlfriend refused to let him in.  While inside the apartment, there was a physical altercation between the male and another friend that was visiting with the girlfriend at the time.  During the altercation, the girlfriend stabbed the male multiple times.  He then walked out of the apartment and fell near the top of the stairs. 

The investigation is continuing. 

Investigation into Shooting Incident at 8900 Westheimer
 
Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 8900 Westheimer at about 11:05 p.m. last Friday (Jan. 12).

The victim, William Chavez, 22, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Detectives J. Hasley and M. Barrow reported:

Officers responded to a report of a shooting at the above address and found Mr. Chavez suffering from a gunshot wound.  Chavez stated that he was approached by two unknown black male suspects, both approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, one wearing a black hoodie and the other wearing a red hoodie.  He said the males began assaulting him and demanded his wallet before shooting him once in the arm.

Investigation into Shooting Incident at 11600 Haviland

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a juvenile male at 11600 Haviland about 7:15 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 13).

The victim, 14, suffered a gunshot wound to the hip and was transported to Texas Children's Hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Detectives A. Turner and D. Williamson reported:

The victim was playing basketball at Haviland Park, at the above address, when a dark-colored vehicle drove into the parking lot.  The occupants of the vehicle started shooting at another group of males on the basketball court.  The victim was struck as he attempted to run from the gunfire.  He was then transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

Investigation into Shooting Incident at 11400 Beamer

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man that occurred at 11400 Beamer at about 1:15 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 13).

The victim, Mark Shaw, 37, was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Investigators M. Burrow and J. Pickett reported:

Officers responded to a shooting at the above address.  Mr. Shaw reported he was shot in his vehicle by three known suspects in another vehicle.  The three males later arrived at a local hospital, two of them with minor injuries.  Conflicting accounts were given and the incident is under further investigation.  No persons have been charged at this time.

Investigation into Shooting at 2303 Richmond

Houston police are investigating the shooting of two men that occurred at 2303 Richmond about 12:30 a.m. on Saturday (Jan. 13).

The victims, Jareath Francis, 38, suffered multiple gunshot wounds while Keith Davidson, 34, suffered a gunshot wound to the leg. 

HPD Major Assaults Division Officers R. Naughton and R. Montalvo reported:

Francis and Davidson were at a restaurant at the above address and walked to the parking lot.  As they walked to the parking lot, an unknown suspect shot at Francis multiple times.  Davidson was also struck by the gunfire.  Francis was transported to the hospital in critical condition.  Davidson was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

Investigation into Shooting at 10701 Sabo

Houston police are investigating the shooting of a man and a woman at 10701 Sabo about 8:05 p.m. on Monday (Jan. 15).
 
The male victim, Darrell Hill, 39, suffered multiple gunshot wounds.  The female victim, Shanatra Walker, 32, suffered a single gunshot wound.  Both were taken to an area hospital in stable condition.
 
HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Thomas and Detective R. Moss reported:
 
While at an apartment complex at the above address, Mr. Hill and Ms. Walker became involved in a disturbance with three males.  All three males then began shooting, striking both Hill and Walker.  Both victims were able to run from the suspects.  Once the suspects, described only as black males, had fled, both Walker and Hill were transported by Houston Fire Department paramedics to an area hospital for treatment of their wounds.

Investigation into Shooting at 5700 Lyndhurst

Houston police are investigating the shooting of three juvenile males at 5700 Lyndhurst about 9:10 p.m. on Monday (January 15). 

The male victims, 14, 15 and 15 years of age, were transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with non life-threatening gunshot wounds.  Another male, 16, and two adult females, 18, were treated at the scene for superficial grazing wounds.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeants H. Garcia and S. Murdock reported: 

A group of people was gathered at the above address when, as all attempted to get into a vehicle to go home, a light-colored vehicle with an unknown number of suspects drove by.  Several shots were fired from inside the vehicle.  

The suspect vehicle is described only as a light-colored sedan, possibly white or gray.

Investigation into Stabbing Incident at 5810 Fondren

Houston police are investigating the stabbing of a male that occurred at 5810 Fondren at about 10:40 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 13).

The male victim, Cristian Lopez, 22, suffered stab wounds to the back and abdomen and was transported to an area hospital.

HPD Major Assaults Unit Detectives A. Williams and B. Salazar reported:

Mr. Lopez was involved in an altercation outside an apartment at the above address when he was stabbed.  Witnesses stated a male and female were seen fleeing from the location.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11800 Hempstead Road
 
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11800 Hempstead about 9 p.m. on Monday (Jan. 15).
 
The male victim, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
 
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer R. Singleton reported:
 
According to witnesses, the victim (a pedestrian) was crossing moving lanes of traffic at the above address.  Several motorists reported taking evasive action to avoid the victim before he was struck by the driver of a silver Nissan Titan pickup truck.
 
The driver of the Nissan remained at the scene and was questioned by police.
 
There are no charges in this incident, as the investigation is continuing.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 11400 Harwin

Houston police are investigating a fatal crash at 11800 Hempstead about 9 p.m. on Monday (Jan. 15).
 
The male victim, 35, was pronounced dead at the scene by Houston Fire Department paramedics.  His identity is pending verification by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.
 
HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant R. Klementich and Officer R. Singleton reported:
 
According to witnesses, the victim was crossing moving lanes of traffic at the above address.  Several motorists reported taking evasive action to avoid the victim before he was struck by the driver of a silver Nissan Titan pickup truck.

Investigation into Fatal Crash at 1400 Lockwoood
 
Houston police are investigating a fatal crash that occurred at 1400 Lockwood about 4:50 p.m. on Thursday (Jan. 11).

The identity of the male victim, 46, is pending notification to family members by the Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences.

HPD Vehicular Crimes Division Sergeant P. Lee and Officer O. Bledsoe reported:

The driver of a green Peterbilt tractor-trailer truck was traveling southbound at the above address when the victim (pedestrian) ran eastbound - not in a crosswalk - from a nearby gas station towards a bus stop.  The driver of the truck was not able to stop and struck the victim.  The victim was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.  The driver of the truck remained on the scene and did not show any signs of intoxication.  He was questioned and released without charges.
