Extreme Weather Impacts

LEAGUE CITY, TEXASDue to the forecasted freezing conditions across our area and for the safety of our staff and residents, the City of League City is modifying its hours of operations and services.

All City offices will close to the public at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16. Recreational facilities, including Helen Hall Library, Hometown Heroes Parks, Johnnie Arolfo Civic Center and all public parks will also suspend operations at 4 p.m. Parks and Recreation facilities will remain closed until 10 a.m. on Wednesday, January 17. Fire, EMS, Police and Public Works Departments will continue to operate throughout the weather event. The City will continue to monitor weather conditions and will communicate any further delays or closures as they develop.

In addition, trash services for today have been suspended due to the anticipated deteriorating conditions on the roads. Tuesday/Friday routes are expected to be completed on Wednesday, January 17, weather permitting. As a result, Wednesday recycling services will be suspended and resumed on Wednesday of next week.

We strongly encourage residents to take necessary precautions and minimize travel for safety. To report ice on roads, you may call our League City Police Department’s non-emergency number 281-332-2566 and press 1. If you need to report a water leak or broken pipe, you may call our Line Repair Department at 281-554-1319 for assistance to turn the water off at your meter.

We ask that you go to www.leaguecity.com or monitor our Facebook page www.facebook.com/leaguecitytexas for updated information throughout this weather event.
