The Texas City City Commission on Wednesday voted unanimously to amend the city's Code of Ordinances to change the number of authorized positions in the Texas City Police Department.

The amendment reduces the department's Sergeant positions by one, and increases the Corporal/Patrolman positions by one.

The city commission voted to approve the purchase of property at 1201 9th Street North.

The property is at the corner of 12th Avenue North, and is surrounded by property already owned by the city, and is being purchased for potential use in line with the city's needs.

The city commission voted to appoint James McWhorter to the Texas City Board of Adjustments.

All items were approved. All votes were unanimous with Commissioner Thelma Bowie absent. Agenda
