9th Annual Yaga’s Chili Quest & Beer Fest this Saturday, January 20th
Please note street and parking lane closures downtown, as well as a run along the Seawall sidewalk for the 5K Fun Run

GALVESTON, Texas – Not to fear, the Chili & Beer is here THIS Saturday, January 20th! For the past eight years Yaga’s has brought a diverse crowd of Chili & Beer lovers from all over the nation to Galveston, TX. This year’s festival will consist of the ever so popular Chili & Beer tasting with a ton of added perks. Get ready for live music, a 5K Fun Run/Walk, a washer pitching tournament, a jackpot margarita contest, vendors and a historical strand merchant walk-about. As if that doesn’t fulfill all of your festival needs, returning this year is the expanded Beer Festival. 

The chili teams will be staged in the north and south side parking lane of the Strand from 22nd Street to 24th Street.  All vendors will be staged on 23rd Street from Harborside Drive to Strand and from Strand to Mechanic Street. 

The fun doesn’t stop there, runners can put one BEERFOOT in front of the other in this BREWTIFUL Beach 5K Fun Run HOPPENING at Beerfoot Brewery! The Beerfooter Beach Run is sure to put some pep in your step and beer in your belly! This race is held in conjunction with the 9th Annual Yaga’s Chili Quest and will start & finish at Seawall and 28th (Directly across the street from Beerfoot Brewery). The race will run along the sidewalk on the Seawall from 28th to 49th Street. While the race will not impact drivers, as no closures are in place, pedestrians will see an increase of runners along the Seawall for the event.

Street Closures on January 20th from 6am to 8pm

  • 23rd Street from Harborside Drive to Mechanic
  • Strand from 22nd Street to 24th Street

Parking Lane Closures Beginning January 19th through 8pm Saturday January 20th

  • 23rd Street from Harborside to Mechanic beginning at 12pm Friday January 19th
  • The North and South Parking Lane of Strand from 22nd to 24th beginning at 3pm Friday January 19th
