Dickinson Bayou spill

Clean up operations will continue into Sunday, January 21.   Dickinson Bayou will remain closed unitl further notice.

Response teams have placed containment booms on the east and west side of the spill area.  The containment booms are located to the east of the Calumet Penreco plant and near Paul Hopkins Park.  These solid containment booms have been placed completely across the bayou, from the north shore to the south shore.  Because of the booms, watercraft traffic along the bayou is impassable.

At this time, there is not an accurate estimate of the time the cleanup will take or how long the bayou will be closed.
