This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “The Great Society” in Houston and German Cornejo's “Tango Fire” in Galveston.

The Alley Theatre in Houston will launch its production of “The Great Society” on Friday at 8 p.m.

Additional performances are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The production continues through February 18.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present German Cornejo's “Tango Fire” on Friday at 8 p.m.

"Tango master German Cornejo and his sensuous partner Gisela Galeassi are joined by an outstanding cast including World Tango Champions and dancers from the greatest Tango houses in Buenos Aires in their dazzling presentation of Tango Fire," said a news release. News Release

College of the Mainland Community Theatre in Texas City will kick off its production of “Lucky Stiff” on Thursday at 8 p.m. Additional performances are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through February 11.

Beaumont Community Players continues its production of “One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show”this week, with performances on Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.

The show runs through February 3.

Playhouse 1960 in Houston continues with “Dixie Swim Club” this week, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m.

The show runs through February 4.

Island ETC, East-End Theatre Company in Galveston ends its production of “Love, Loss and What I Wore”, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m.

Clear Creek Community Theatre in Nassau Bay wraps up Agatha Christie's “Black Coffee” this week, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson ends “Funny Money” this week. Performances are on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Upcoming performances include “Men on Boats”, officially opening February 10 at Main Street Theater in Houston, and “Diavolo”, att Miller Outdoor Theatre on March 16.
