Pearland City Council
by Garrett Bryce
Tuesday, January 23, 2018

Pearland City Council on Monday voted unanimously to authorize entering into an industrial district agreement extension with Denbury Resources, Inc.

The city had entered into an industrial district agreement with Denbury Resources for payments in lieu of taxes in 2011. The current agreement expires on January 31. The extension will be for a one-year term, under the same general terms and conditions.

Denbury will make payments in lieu of taxes based on 65 percent of ad valorem taxes on the appraised value of Denbury's property in the city.

The city council postponed action regarding a change order with Construction Masters of Houston, Inc. in association with the Delores Fenwick Nature Center Project.

The city council voted unanimously to renew a unit supply contract for traffic signal heads and components with Traffic Parts, Inc. in the estimated amount of $100,000. The contract will be extended for a one year period.

The city council postponed action regarding the first reading of an ordinance temporarily suspending certain development regulations related to the renovation, remodeling, and expansion of facilities owned and maintained by the Pearland Independent School District to assist the district in implementation of the district's 2016 bond program.

The city council voted unanimously to authorize use of eminent domain for acquiring a 1,530 square foot parcel of land required for the FM 518 Turn Lane Project at FM 518 and State Highway 288.

All other items were approved by unanimous vote. All members were present. Agenda
