The suspect, Kalandre Kytrell Adams (b/m, 28), is charged with murder in the 230th State District Court.  He is accused in the killing of his wife, Keishawra Shepherd-Adams, 27, who died at the scene.

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant R. Rodriguez and Detectives M. Waters II and M. Condon reported:

Ms. Adams was found in the middle of the street at the above address deceased from gunshot wounds.  Her belongings were on the ground next to her.  Witnesses reported hearing gunshots earlier that morning, between 3 and 4 a.m.

Further investigation identified her husband, Kalandre Adams, as the suspect in this case and, on Monday (January 23), a murder charge was filed against him.  He was taken into custody on Tuesday (January 24) in Lufkin, Texas, by the Lufkin Police Department.  Adams admitted to HPD homicide investigators his involvement in his wife's death.  He is expected to be transferred to the Harris County jail in the coming days.
