Brazosport Center for the Arts & Sciences Announces CenterFest 2018 Line-Up

Clute, Texas – Building on the success and attendance of the first three, The Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences (Center) will host the 4th annual CenterFest from April 6-8, 2018 at the Center. The Center is located at 400 College Blvd. Clute, Texas right in front of Brazosport College. Like the first three festivals, CenterFest 2018 will introduce, the people of southeast Texas to the Brazosport Center for the Arts and Sciences. Founded in 1976, this cultural icon offers families from Texas, or anywhere, the chance to learn, eat and have fun with all things Texas.

Honky-Tonk Revival

CenterFest 2018 starts on Friday, April 6 with Austin Music Hall of Fame member, Dale Watson. “We want to bring a musician and performer like Dale Watson to open CenterFest because he delivers a very particular and familiar brand of Texas music to the event,” said Center executive director Wes Copeland. “Dale is an accomplished member of the country western community; a honky-tonk legend who continues playing the kind of music that Waylon Jennings, and Bob Wills once did. We are very fortunate to have him.” Watson has flown the flag on behalf of classic honky-tonk for over two decades. He’s christened his brand of music “Ameripolitan” to differentiate it from current crop of Nashville-based pop country. The Alabama-born, Texas-raised Watson may be the hardest working entertainer today and is legendary. See him here on Austin City Limits.

Food & Beverage By Wurst Haus

Lake Jackson’s Wurst Haus will serve all the food and drinks at CenterFest 2018 including a variety of craft and imported beer. “This is a huge addition for us, with such a well-known and respected local business,” Copeland said. “You will not have a bad time or leave hungry or thirsty at CenterFest 2018.”
