THE GRAND presents THE ROB LANDES TRIO

GALVESTON ISLAND, TEXAS - On Sunday March 18, 2018 at 4 pm, The Grand 1894 Opera House presents The Rob Landes Trio – The Fabulous 50s. Tickets may be purchased at The Grand’s Box Office, 2020 Postoffice Street, by calling 409.765.1894, 800.821.1894, or online at www.thegrand.com.

The 1950s marked the beginning of Rock and Roll − from Elvis to Little Richard to Chuck Berry. At the same time, the 1950s was the era of Frank Sinatra, Johnny Mathis, and Roger Williams. From “Sha Boom” to “Chances Are,” The Rob Landes Trio returns to The Grand to charm you with their very special musical journey through this fabulous musical decade!

Rob Landes began studying the piano at the age of three and made his “debut” on the Art Linkletter House Party program at the age of four. This appearance was greeted with great applause and kudos from Mr. Linkletter as well as Tommy Dorsey who was on the same broadcast. A native Houstonian, his playing has taken him from the United States and Canada, to Norway and many parts of Europe. Landes is widely known as a pianist, organist, harpist, arranger, conductor and published composer, with 16 CDs to his credit. He has been the Organist and Artist-in-Residence at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church since 1996. The Rob Landes Trio is well known for performances in concert at Jones Hall, The Wortham Theatre, The Tower Theatre, The Houston Jazz Festival, and Galveston’s Grand 1894 Opera House. They appeared weekly for three years on Channel 13’s Good Morning Houston. This performance is sponsored in part by National Trust Insurance Services, LLC and supported in part by an award from the National Endowment for the Arts and Texas Commission on the Arts.

Single tickets are available and on sale. Contact The Grand's box office at 409.765.1894, 800.821.1894, or visit The Grand at www.thegrand.com.  Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, The Grand 1894 Opera House is located at 2020 Postoffice Street in Galveston's historic downtown Cultural Arts District, and is recognized as "The Official Opera House of the State of Texas.” All major credit cards accepted.
