This Week on Stage

Performances and concerts this week on stage in the Gulf Coast area include “Men on Boats” and “Lover, Beloved: An Evening with Carson McCullers” in Houston.

Main Street Theater in Houston officially opens its production of “Men on Boats” on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.

Preview performances leading up to opening night take place on Wednesday, Thursday and on Friday at 7:30 p.m. An additional performance is on Sunday at 3 p.m.

The show runs through March 11.

The Alley Theater in Houston will present “Lover, Beloved: An Evening with Carson McCullers”, beginning Friday at 8 p.m. Additional performances are on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. the show runs through March 11.

The Alley Theatre also continues its production of “The Great Society” this week, with performances Tuesday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m., Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The production continues through February 18.

The Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston will present the Galveston Symphony Orchestra for a Valentine’s concert on Sunday at 4 p.m.

Bay Area Harbour Playhouse in Dickinson is presenting “Hotbed Hotel” this week, with performances on Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through February 25.

College of the Mainland Community Theatre in Texas City wraps up “Lucky Stiff” this week, with performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. The show runs through February 11.

Upcoming performances include Jerrry Jeff Walker in concert on March 2 at the Grand 1894 Opera House in Galveston, and “Memphis”, presented by Theatre Under the Stars in Houston and opening February 20.
