Seabrook City Council on Tuesday voted unanimously to order an election for May 5 to elect three council positions.

Positions 1, 3, and 5, currently held by Robert Llorente, Gary Johnson and Glenna Adovasio, respectively, have terms expiring in May. Candidate filing for the election continues through February 16.

The city council voted unanimously to accept a $328,950 grant through the Homeland Security Grant Division Fiber Optic Network Program. The funds will be used for the installation of a fiber optic network system to enhance SCADA connectivity.

The city council voted unanimously to adopt a resolution supporting a Low Income Housing Tax Credit application for the Seaside Lodge at Chesapeake Bay.

The developers plan to build senior housing in the northeast quadrant of Elam Street and Larrabee Street.

The city council voted unanimously to direct staff to continue negotiations regarding an offer of purchase from PG Legacies, Inc. for approximately 2 acres of city property located at Lakeside Drive, north of Repsdorph Road.

The city council voted unanimously to approve, on first reading, amendments to the city's sign standards ordinance.

The city council took no action resulting from any other items discussed in closed session.
